Katie Sellers, a native of Salina, Kansas, had an eye for fashion beginning at an early age. Between rocking spandex and mom’s high heels at age 3, modeling for the Fashion Museum in Abilene, Kansas, and assisting fellow law students learn how to dress for success, fashion has played a major roll in her life. 

 

Prior to moving to Kansas City in June 2014, Katie received her Bachelor of Science in Sociology from Baker University, and her Juris Doctor from Creighton University School of Law. While living in Omaha, Nebraska, Katie attended Omaha Fashion Week and knew that getting involved in the fashion industry was a must. Upon moving to Kansas City, Katie sought out opportunities to get involved with Kansas City Fashion Week, LLC, and became a volunteer for during the Fall 2014 show. It was because of this experience and her interaction with the amazing KCFW Committee, combined with her event planning experience that Katie wanted to learn more about the business and execution of KCFW and play a more active role in its operation. Kansas City Fashion Week has opened an amazing door by allowing her to use her education and passion for fashion to break into the fashion industry and be part of an outstanding organization!
