Paulie Gibson

 

As the President & Designer of menswear label Paulie Gibson, Paul draws upon all of his life experiences to serve as inspiration to his apparel. Having been a dreamer since birth, Paul Gibson found early on that fashion was his true calling as he sketched dresses in the shapes of triangles and squares. Paul found comfort in the world of retail as a teenager where he learned the fundamentals of selling, customer services, visual merchandising and exceeding customer expectations.  


While cultivating his own aesthetic, Paul honed his skills in draping, patternmaking, tailoring, and fit modification. Though it was his semester in Paris, combined with his internship with DSQUARED2 that solidified his knowing that there was room in the industry for his voice. 


June of 2013, Paul launched his first sellable collection under his newly formed label, Paulie Gibson with a showcase with local organization RAW: Artists. Simultaneously, Paulie Gibson was selected for the Phoenix Fashion Week Emerging designer program, where he was selected and purchased by retail giant Zappos.com. While in Phoenix, the brand began to garner the attention of the celebrity stylists in Los Angeles, and within 2 weeks had his first showing at STYLE Fashion Week, Los Angeles. The following season the collection returned to SFW where he complete his second showing and was filmed & featured on America's Next Top Model Cycle 20.  


In addition to ANTM, Paulie Gibson has been worn to the Grammy's, movie premieres, music video, and published in numerous publications. Everything happened so quickly, Paul had to learn on the fly. Through it all, Paul realizes that fundamentally, he wants to sell clothes that make men feel special.
