Model Highlight: Audrey White

We asked a handful of questions to Audrey White, a KCFW veteran model. This girl knows how to own a runway in everything from pointe shoes to swimwear. We're impressed.

What made you want to get involved with KCFW? My very first season actually happened by chance. A good friend of mine, who also happens to be a designer, had a model no show on her, so she called me last minute to fill that spot. After that, I was hooked. How many seasons have you been a part of KCFW? This will be my sixth season walking in Kansas City Fashion Week. Why do you keep coming back? I love everything about runway modeling. The hours of preparation, the makeup, the hair, and of course the amazing clothing designs. There is no better feeling in the world than making it to the end of that runway and turning around to a standing ovation. What is one of your favourite memories in modeling for KCFW? One of my top moments would have to be last season when I was modeling for Casanova NYC. As soon as I put on the jumpsuit cover-up he had for me, he took a step back and told me that he had designed it for someone with exactly my look. I was awestruck, to say the least. Who are some of your favourite designers that you've walked for? I honestly can't pick just one. I have been honored to walk for some truly amazing people. If I had to, I would say Lauren Bander, Heidi Herrman, Erin Paige Designs, Michelle Kleineweber, and of course Casanova NYC. Any advice to up and coming models? Don't get too discouraged in the beginning. It's full of constant learning opportunities. Don't give up because of one bad experience, turn it into a chance to grow as a model, and as a person. Life is too short to give up on your dreams. Also, ladies, be nice to each other. There is no need for the cattiness and drama. It will only make you look bad to have beef with each other. I have made some of the best of friends modeling for KCFW. You'll meet people from all walks of life, yet you still have something in common with modeling.
