Blogger Highlight: Jana Meister

Jana Meister of Jana Style Blog. Beyond being a blogger she's also Co-Regional Director of Fashion Group International Kansas City and the Official Stylist + Blogger for Summit Fair Shopping Center. Read on:

How did you first got involved in with blogging?

I started my blog in April of 2012 as a way to keep an online journal of my favorite outfits and trends. I had also become very involved in the Kansas City fashion scene and I used my blog to document all the fun events and fashion related projects I was working on.

Tell us about some of the people you’ve met while working on your blog?

I've been very lucky to have met so many amazing people through my blog. I have a great group of friends I have made here in Kansas City through Go Blog Social and KC Blogger Meetup. I've also been lucky to have met a few designers including Trina Turk, Rebecca Minkoff, and Micheal Costello.

What do you do when you aren’t working on your blog?

When I'm not working on my blog or working at my 8-5, you can find me working with Fashion Group International or out and about at Summit Fair scouting the stores for the best new trends. I also love to travel and spend time with my friends and family. My puppy Lola is my whole world so I spend a lot of time with her too! :)

What networking do you do that you feel helps your blogging business?

It feels like I am always doing something to network. I love to meet with other people interested in the fashion industry and other people passionate about blogging. I attend all the Fashion Group International networking events, KC Blogger Meetup, Go Blog Social Blog Conference, and I also really enjoy just meeting with my other blogger friends for coffee or lunch! I think it's important to keep myself motivated to meet new people and stay social within the Kansas City Fashion scene. You never know when you might meet the right person with an amazing project or idea!

How did you get involved with blogging with KCFW?

I volunteered for the first three season of KCFW. I met so many amazing people and fell in love with the growing fashion scene here in Kansas City. During that time my blog started to grow and I really wanted to continue to be involved with KCFW. I applied as media for the fourth season and have been blogging for KCFW ever since.

What is your favorite part about blogging at KCFW?

It is so exciting! I love to see what the local designers send down the runway and I have also enjoyed discovering new designers from other cities.

Name some of the bloggers whom you look up to and why?

I look up to so many amazing bloggers! I really enjoy following bloggers who are passionate about entrepreneurship and blogging for business, as well as the super stylish bloggers too! Jessie of Style and Pepper, Julia of Gal Meets Glam, Emily & Elizabeth of Fashion Column Twins, and Lauren of La Petite Fashionista just to name a few :)
