Fair and Fashionable Partners with KCFW to Raise Awareness of the Dangers of Tanning

This season KCFW is working closely with Fair and Fashionable to spread an important message about skin cancer to the fashion industry.
Co-Founder of Fair and Fashionable, Dr. Molly Menser, started this organization to raise awareness of skin cancer to women ages 15-29 since they are the most likely to be affected by this disease.
“Ultraviolet light exposure, both natural and artificial, increases the risks of melanoma.” Dr. Menser said. “ There is no safe tan.”
She also wants to encourage young women to embrace their natural skin tones. People of all skin types can be affected by melanoma, which can be fatal.
“We want women and girls to know that being tan isn’t fashionable – it’s harmful and potentially deadly,” Dr. Menser said.
KCFW and Fair and Fashionable encourage those who attend the Thursday evening show to wear black in honor of melanoma awareness. This show will also feature a small showing of models who embrace their tan free skin.
