Hello! Jana here, the new KCFW Fashion Editor! Today I am so excited to be sharing a glimpse into the behind the scenes happenings of Kansas City Fashion Week!

Last weekend Kansas City Fashion Week designers participated in follow-up interviews. During this interview process the designers presented finished pieces, fabric swatches, and accessory choices for their upcoming Fall/Winter 2016 collections. This process is a way for the designers to show the planning committee the progress they have made, get feedback, and ensure that they are on track to show their finished looks at the upcoming runways shows.

I had the chance to sit in as the designers presented their looks to the KCFW team. It was incredibly inspiring and so exciting to see the progress each designer has made since their initial ideas for their collections. Each designer has such a different design aesthetic and process. I find it so interesting to hear their ideas and visions as each collection progresses and comes to life!

I am so impressed by all the designers and I'm so excited to see the finished looks on the runway March 13th - 19th , 2016 at Union Station! Tickets go on sale February 1st.

Fabric Swatches in gorgeous textures and colors were shared during designer interviews. There are going to be some amazing fabrics and colors coming down the runway in the Fall/Winter 2016 Collections!

Sneak Peek of some amazing jewelry designs from Christine Nelson who is partnering with the

Lucia's Sarto this season!

Loved the mix of fabric texture and color story for the Archetexture collection! Can't wait to see it all on the runway!

Designer Jill Lapping of My Heirloom presented these gorgeous fabric choices and some incredible designs!
